Rejuvenating and reimagining the workplace setting

Five Bowen

The refurbishment of Five Bowen re-positions the existing commercial asset as a premium workplace with modern amenities for prospective tenants, visitors and the precinct.

The 14-storey building’s extensive revitalisation consists of building services upgrades, including lift modernisation, new lift lobbies, and amenity improvements to all floors – elevating Five Bowen’s NABERS Energy rating from zero to five stars.

The site’s prime location within the Domain Precinct is adjacent to the new Anzac Station, providing significant connectivity once open in 2025.

Contemporary upgrades to the decades-old façade sees a transparent rainscreen installed over the existing podium which will provide a lightness to the heavy precast, allowing it to read through.

A new ground floor entry with café and pod seating extending from the façade will be capped by a slender steel and glass canopy and activate the street frontage.

The materiality of the interiors is strongly influenced by the original granite, lending itself to terrazzo finishes throughout.

Enhanced workplace amenity includes business meeting areas, fully refurbished office floors, as well as a wellness centre with yoga and exercise space, and well-appointed end-of-trip facilities.

Outdoor landscaped terraces and a rooftop function space offer fresh air and sweeping views over Albert Park and the CBD.
