Elevating tradition while defining luxury living excellence

671 Chapel Street

Just moments away from the Yarra River, 671 Chapel Street offers 126 high quality residences. Located at the northern end of the renowned Chapel Street, the site enjoys uninterrupted views of the river and city, and excellent local amenity and connectivity.

The podium and ground plane are activated by a significant community offering in the form of a flexible education space. This is managed exclusively by Melbourne High School which shares a boundary to the west.

The project, designed for Casa, sits amongst a collection of glassy towers and draws its architectural inspiration from the school campus. Two slender towers create a harmonious backdrop to Melbourne High’s 1920s building. Their masonry quality establishes a dialogue with the school and presents a point of difference to the rest of Chapel Street’s architecture. Horizontal and vertical elements give a three-storey expression to the towers, accentuating their order and slenderness.

In the podium levels, additional solidity and texture is introduced in sculpted piers. This combines with filigree bronze aluminium details to provide a human scale to the street and a welcome sense of belonging for residents. Beyond the community space, other podium uses include retail, commercial and residential amenities.

At ground level, 671 Chapel Street seeks to enhance connectivity and amenity through a new landscaped pedestrian link, unifying the Chapel Street and Melbourne High School precincts.
